Yash Raj Films launches 6 Pack Band featuring Sonu Nigam with transgenders

Yash Raj Films, for the first time, has launched a transgender band named 6 Pack Band, which features singing sensation Sonu Nigam. Conceptualized by Ashish Patil and curated by music composer Shamir Tandon, the band has six members. Their first single, Hum Hai Happy is a recreated version of Pharrells Williams’ Happy.
“For a long time now, the transgender community has been treated like a taboo in our society. Despite being disowned by their family and society for no fault of theirs, they are happy. So we thought why not do something for them? When Shamir and Ashish came to me with this concept, I immediately accepted this offer,” said Sonu.
Shamir, Sonu and Ashish feel that this step will curb the intolerance of the people towards the community.
The second single, Khuda Ke Bande, which will be released on January 26, will have Sonu in the video along with the band members.
